When I learned about blogging, I thought that it was a very good avenue for me to write my Journal and Reflections. So, initially, my main aim was simply to make it as a tool for self expression. I was a bit hesitant to try it as I thought it will be difficult for someone like me who is not a techie.
But, at one of our Christmas gathering with friends in December 2008, I gathered enough courage and asked one of our guests how difficult is it to start a blog. He matter-of-factly shrugged his shoulders and said: “very easy.” Initially, I thought to myself, should I believe him? This person has three degrees and studying for a fourth one.
I quietly believed that if Ican type in Word and can send emails, perhaps I should be able to do it. I then asked him which website to create my blog.
With a bit of an adventurous spirit and a bit of risk-taking, I decided to actually DO IT! This is the blog which I initially created: http://www.inspiredandenriched.blogspot.com It is very simple. Go and visit it. I also created some business cards with this blog and distributed it to my friends to have a look at it. I got really excited when someone from the US made a positive comment on it. That comment actually inspired me to continue blogging.
I stopped putting content for a while when I learned to use another blog platform where I can have my own domain name and hosting. I continued learning about blogging and recently discovered that this blog has actually got a Page Ranking of 2. I have now decided to continue adding content into it and will go back to my original goal of using this blog as an avenue for self expression and spiritual reflection.
How about you. Do you have a reason to create a blog? Everyone has a message. What is yours? Would you like to share it with others?
All the best!
